What is “BMW Coding Online” exactly?
It’s a digital service where you upload a vehicle backup file (BUP). We modify it based on your request and return a ready-to-write file.
You then write it back to the vehicle locally using your laptop and ENET/ICOM with Hublum Remote.
Do you connect to my car remotely?
No. You stay in full control. We never access your vehicle directly — we only edit the uploaded file.
What do I need to get started?
A laptop, an ENET cable (most F series and selected G series) or ICOM, internet connection, and stable vehicle voltage.
A battery charger is strongly recommended during write-back.
Is this safe for my BMW?
When instructions are followed and battery voltage is stable, the process is generally safe.
The most common risk is power loss during write-back — which is why we recommend a charger.
How does the full process work step-by-step?
1) Purchase a coding option → 2) Download Hublum Remote → 3) Create a backup file (BUP) →
4) Upload via the portal + describe what you want → 5) We edit → 6) You download and write back.
How long does it take?
Most orders are completed within a few hours. Maximum turnaround time is 24 business hours (unless stated otherwise).
What if my requested feature isn’t possible?
Some options depend on equipment and software versions. If a requested change isn’t technically possible for your vehicle,
we will inform you before proceeding.
Which BMW models are supported?
We support most BMW F series and selected early G series.
Newer vehicles with Secure Coding 2.0 protection may have limitations.
If you’re unsure, message us with your model + year and what you want to code — we’ll confirm compatibility.
Can you do USA → EU conversions?
In many cases yes (region settings, lighting behaviour, language/units). Compatibility depends on your vehicle configuration and software.
Can you code Start/Stop memory?
Often yes. Availability depends on the vehicle and software version. If it’s not possible, we’ll tell you.
Will this affect my warranty?
Software changes may affect manufacturer warranty. If your vehicle is under warranty, we recommend checking your terms before proceeding.
Can you remove fault codes permanently?
We do not offer “permanent” fault removal. If a fault exists, it should be diagnosed and repaired correctly.
Do I need a battery charger?
Strongly recommended. Stable voltage is the #1 factor for a safe write-back process.
What if my write-back fails or is interrupted?
Stop immediately and follow the recovery steps from our instructions. Most issues come from voltage drops, cable disconnects, or laptop sleep mode.
Contact us with details — we’ll guide you.
Do you store my backup file?
Files are stored securely for service completion and support, then may be deleted after completion. See our Privacy Policy for details.
Can I order more than one coding option?
Yes. You can purchase multiple options and describe everything you want in the portal. We’ll apply changes in one edited file where possible.
Do I need to visit a workshop or dealership?
No. Everything is done from home with your laptop and cable.
Is this service legal?
It’s your responsibility to ensure changes comply with your local laws and regulations. Some modifications may be intended for off-road/show use only.
What if I’m not sure what I need?
Message us before purchase. Tell us your BMW model/year and what you want to achieve — we’ll advise the best option.
Do you offer support if I get stuck?
Yes — we provide guidance related to our process (download, upload, write-back). The easiest way is to contact us with a screenshot and a short description.
Still have questions?
